Agreements (please read through these carefully)

I understand that:

If I enroll in classes or am enrolled by staff into a class per my request or because it is mandatory for newly admitted students, I am responsible for payment of all tuition and fees (found here) by their deadlines (found here) .

I am responsible for my own enrollment. I will not be automatically dropped for non-payment (policy here).

If I choose not to attend the class(es) I enrolled in, I must drop them in MyUCSC by the deadline (found here). If I do not, I accept the academic consequences, i.e. receiving an F. (policy here).

If I join a waitlist, I may be automatically enrolled. I must monitor MyUCSC enrollment and drop myself by the deadline if I no longer want to attend (policy here).

Health Insurance is mandatory. All newly admitted students who enroll in summer classes (online and in person) through Summer Edge are automatically enrolled in and charged for the campus Health Insurance, UC SHIP. Students with other acceptable health insurance must complete an online waiver by the stated summer deadline in order to opt out (policy here).

I understand that I must submit a 2024-2025 FAFSA or Dream Application for summer in addition to the 2025-2026 FAFSA or Dream Application I submitted for fall in order to be eligible for summer aid.(policy here).

I am responsible for any housing and dining costs incurred by living in Summer Housing, regardless of changes to my student status or enrollment.(policy here)

I agree to abide by all rules and regulations as laid out in the UCSC Student Handbook & University Policies (found here). Any violation may be grounds for removal from current and future Summer Sessions.

Summer Edge is an early start program exclusively for newly admitted students who are matriculated to UC Santa Cruz and plan to attend in the fall. Any change to student status — for example, if you withdraw your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) or your admission is cancelled due to failure to meet your conditions of admission, you will be reclassified as a visiting summer-only student. Visiting students are not eligible to take summer classes through Summer Edge and will be dropped from their summer classes, and the tuition and Campus Fee will be refunded. Any disbursed financial aid will be rescinded or billed back in the case of financial aid refunds sent to the student. If your status changes after summer session grades have been posted, you will be responsible for paying the full tuition out-of-pocket for any completed courses.
