How to Enroll

Anyone can take classes at UC Santa Cruz during Summer Session. Continuing students who were enrolled in courses in spring don't need to register. All others must complete their registration by the deadline to be able to enroll in summer classes. Visiting students must register annually. Registration processing takes approximately 1-3 business days to complete. Please use the form below that corresponds to your student group. Using an incorrect form can cause issues with processing and delay your ability to add a class.

Incoming First Year and Transfer Students

Summer Edge is an early start program for newly admitted students who want to take classes the summer before their first fall. First Year and Transfer students who have been admitted for fall 2026 and completed their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) through their MyUCSC Student Portal are eligible to register April 1 - June 15. Visiting Summer-Only Students

As part of UCSC’s Summer Session, visiting students from across the country can earn UC transferable credits. You are a visiting summer-only student if you are currently attending a university or community college other than UC Santa Cruz, or are a working professional or community member. Registration is $50. Tuition and Campus Fee are charged when you enroll in a course. Registration is open April 1 - July 29. Use this link: Visiting Student Registration

Eligible High School Students

As part of UCSC’s Summer Session, eligible high school students can earn UC transferable credits. You must have a 3.0 minimum GPA and be at least 14 years old. Registration is not complete until you also submit your Verification Form and Waiver Packet and paid the nonrefundable $50 registration fee...
